Our two-day tour is focused around the reality of life of our women weavers of Cotzal, and shows the impact of the cooperative on their lives.
During the first day you can:
Understand the true history of the community during the civil war through witness accounts of the weavers.
See how the women make their textiles
Learn about other daily activities like making candles, cooking tortillas, roasting coffee, etc…
Visit some traditional Ixil houses and taste delicious traditional food.
During the second day you can hike through the Cuchumatanes mountains and its villages with a guide and picnic with food prepared by the women in the community.
